No-Bag Day for Diwali: Highlight of the Month

This Diwali, Vedanta Academy celebrated in a unique and meaningful way by organizing a special “No-Bag Day” for students. Rather than following the regular schedule ofclasses and assignments, students were encouraged to dive into a day of hands-on learning, creative projects, and sustainability-focused activities.

Aligned with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the day inspired our young learners, fondly called ‘Chingums,’ to explore and embrace values of creativity, inclusivity, and environmental consciousness. Throughout the day, students participated in both individual and group projects that emphasized eco-friendly practices, like upcycling. From designing art installations using recycled materials to crafting DIY Diwali decor and experimenting sustainable craft practices, our Chingums displayed impressive innovation and collaboration. High school students took part in creating posters for presentations on SDGs, exploring how small actions can make a big difference toward  a sustainable future. The day served as a source of inspiration for students to think critically about their roles as young citizens and discover ways to contribute to their community as responsible leaders of the future, positively and creatively.

Parent Connect Session for Grade 7 and 8, with a “theatrical” twist

This year’s Parent Connect sessions have been a success, enriched by a theater showcase that celebrates students’ talents and learning journeys. Held on October 26th for Grades 7 and 8, this session featured an exciting collaboration with Crea-Shakthi, a theatre group dedicated to nurturing young performers. Every student stepped onto the stage, confidently participating in compering, delivering speeches, and performing in group dramas and solo acts like monologues and stand-up comedy. The session also offered an interactive experience where students guided parents through theatre exercises, giving them firsthand insight into the benefits of Theatre in Education (TIE) and its positive influence on their children’s growth. Guided by Ms. Kavya, our theatre facilitator from Crea-Shakthi, students performed group dramas and self-written solo pieces, creating a memorable, immersive experience that brought pride and joy to both parents and students.

Pre-Primary Chingums showcase their brilliance at the ‘Creative Fair’

Vedanta Academy’s Creative Fair was a lively vibrant celebration of learning, bringing together all our pre-primary students for an inspiring showcase that highlighted our school’s empowerment on reading, logical thinking, critical thinking, and holistic development, as a progressive school. Our young chingums from PP2, PP3 A, and PP3 B delved into a variety of themes, exploring topics like shapes, colors, plants, animals, and the personal theme of ‘All About Me.’ Through hands-on projects, interactive games, role play, and creative displays, each child demonstrated their growing understanding, curiosity, and enthusiasm for learning. The fair reflected Vedanta’s commitment to nurturing well-rounded development, where reading and exploration go hand-in-hand with creativity and self-expression. It was a joyous experience for all, as our students proudly showcased the depth of their learning, embodying the progressive values that define our school.
