A New Beginning with Our New Principal
As we embark on a new academic year, we are thrilled to welcome our new Principal, Ms. S. Maya, to the Vedanta Academy family. With over 22 years of experience in school education, Principal S. Maya is a dedicated educationist. She holds a B.Ed in Physics from Pondicherry University and an M.Ed from TNTEU. Renowned for training, guiding, and motivating teachers to become future leaders, she enhances their skills and fosters their growth.. Her commitment to preparing students for learning challenges and nurturing their holistic development is truly inspiring. Ms. Maya’s extensive experience and passion for education make her a valuable asset to our educational community, dedicated to upholding our school’s values and driving excellence in all aspects of student development.
Parent Orientation Programs
In June 2024, Vedanta Academy hosted a series of Parent Orientation Programmes across all grades, from Pre-Primary to Grade 12, marking the beginning of an exciting new school year. These events were crafted to familiarise parents with our school’s values, curriculum, and the diverse array of curricular, co-curricular, and extracurricular activities. The Principal’s address provided valuable insights into our vision, purpose, and policies, followed by a Q&A session to ensure comprehensive understanding.
A major highlight of the orientation was our collaboration with Vedantu for early exam preparation, which generated significant enthusiasm among parents. Vedantu representatives presented their approach to exam prep, discussed its integration into our curriculum, and addressed various parent queries.
Additionally, one of the sessions featured a special Father’s Day celebration, where parents and children were invited to wear sparkling blue attire. Fathers were honoured with heartfelt tributes, and the engaging outdoor activities created unforgettable memories. The day was filled with energy and enthusiasm, making it a truly memorable event for everyone!
Epic Coonoor Hill Station Adventure:
Experiential Learning and Personality Development in Action
A group of 49 excited students from classes 10A, 10B, 12A, and 12B, along with three teachers, embarked on an unforgettable journey to Coonoor on 8th of June 2024, blending experiential learning with personality development. The adventure began with exhilarating zip-lining, where students overcame fears and built courage. They then tackled rocky hills, pushing their limits and discovering the power of teamwork. Exploring the serene tea gardens provided reflection and an appreciation for sustainable practices. Each activity, more thrilling and educational than the last, boosted students’ confidence and camaraderie. By the end of the trip, they had learned invaluable lessons in teamwork, leadership, and self-discovery, experiencing personal growth beyond the classroom. This epic adventure brought learning to life, creating cherished memories and essential skills for their future.
Scholastic Book Fair
From June 15th to 17th, 2024, Vedanta Academy hosted a 3-day Scholastic Book Fair, transforming our school into a vibrant hub of reading. . Students eagerly explored a variety of books, from magical adventures to intriguing mysteries, igniting their imaginations and fostering a love for reading. The event was a great success, thanks to the enthusiastic support of our parents and students, creating lasting memories and strengthening our community’s appreciation for literature. A big thank you to everyone who contributed to making this Book Fair a meaningful experience!
Celebrating International Yoga Day
On June 21, 2024, Vedanta Academy celebrated International Yoga Day with great enthusiasm and energy! Under the theme ‘Yoga for Self and Society,’ our chief guest Dr. N. Suresh Anand from MMM Hospital, Chennai, along with special guests and 40 students, engaged in a collective yoga session, fostering unity and mindfulness. Students from Grades 6 to 12 were introduced to the special yoga therapy, Nadi Suddhi. Simultaneously, World Music Day was celebrated with a delightful choir performance, filling the atmosphere with joy and harmony. The combined essence of yoga and music brought everyone together, creating a profound sense of connection and inspiration. The celebration also included a wellness session for our teachers with nearly 60 participants enjoying a relaxing experience led by the Isha Foundation. They engaged in calming exercises like Nadi Suddhi and Isha Kriya, finding peace and relaxation. This initiative fostered a sense of community and happiness among the teachers. The session conducted by Mr. Angusamy and Ms. Rohini from the Isha Foundation underscored our commitment to our teachers’ well-being, equipping them with the energy and positivity to support our students throughout the year.

Founder’s Day Festivities
What a fantastic Founder’s Day celebration it was! Our school was full of excitement with amazing performances, colourful birthday cards, and heartfelt poems for Shri. K. Ramadoss, our founding father, on his birthday on 24 June 2024. Laughter and joy filled the campus as students and staff came together to honour our founder’s vision. We reflected on the values that inspire us daily. Special moments were shared, creating lasting memories and a sense of pride in our school’s history. The students of Vedanta Academy also gifted a plant sapling to Shri K. Ramadoss on his birthday. The Principal graciously accepted the gift on behalf of our Founder. It was a day to remember for everyone at Vedanta Academy!
Plant Hunter’s Workshop
What a thrilling adventure! As 25 students from Grades 5 to 9 embarked on the “Plant Hunter’s Workshop” at Alliance Francaise of Madras, organised by the Goethe-Institut Chennai, in collaboration with the French Institute of Pondicherry! Guided by experts from Sci-PY, Yoshida Menon and Preveena Nandakumar, our students engaged themselves in hands-on activities exploring plant migration and its historical connections. The workshop beautifully blended art, science, and nature, igniting a passion for the environment. Participants were captivated by exploring the world through the eyes of a plant hunter, listening to intriguing stories filled with mystery, humour, and caution; Engaging in fun games and activities to discover the plants around them, and experiencing a guided tour of the unique Travelling Plants exhibition.

Adding to the excitement was a Botanical Drawing Workshop by PC Malavika, where art and nature united. Students learned techniques to capture the beauty of plants, enhancing their skills, and inspiring the environment. The Plant Hunter’s Workshop was an unforgettable experience, blending nature, creativity, and learning in a way that left a lasting impression on all participants.

The student council election campaign at Vedanta Academy was in full swing. Students from classes IX through XII, who qualified, participated in the campaigns, held from June 14th to June 25th, 2024. The final nominees were revealed on June 13th, followed by an engaging introductory session on June 18th, where candidates shared their visions with everyone ! Students from classes IV to XII cast their votes, turning this into an exciting and inclusive democratic event. Who is going to win this time? Stay tuned for the results!
