Our comprehensive sports programmes focus on fostering teamwork, discipline, and resilience among our students. These events not only celebrate individual talent and house pride but are also vital components of our holistic approach to education. Manikandan, Boxing Champion of India and Deputy Chief Ticket Inspector (Southern Railway), along with our school Director, Mr. Sundeep Vasu, Trustee Shrimati Suganthi, and Principal Ms. Maya. The event began with a delightful Olympic lighting ceremony, where our young torchbearers carried a charming mock Olympic torch, adding a playful and whimsical touch to the event. Their enthusiastic relay and the lighting of the lamp, created a heartwarming and memorable start to the day  of vibrant displays and energetic performances.

The highlight of the day was the adorable march past of our little Chingums, each house parading with their own unique charm. Dressed in special Sports Day uniforms adorned with a cute Chingum emblem, the young marchers brought a creative touch to the event. While their precision may not have been perfect, their enthusiastic attempts and playful twists made the procession a heartwarming spectacle and memorable part of the day. Adding a creative touch to this year’s event, the Sports Day uniforms for the youngest participants featured a cute Chingum emblem, making their participation even more special and memorable.

2nd Parent Connect for our Pre-Primary

Vedanta Academy hosted its second Parent Connect Session on 31st August 2024, focused on “How to Engage Children Effectively at Home.” With 33 parents participating, the session included an enriching group discussion, where parents from PP2, PP3A, and PP3B shared their experiences. Teachers also presented fun and educational activities designed to strengthen parent-child bonds and support holistic development.

During the Parent-Connect Session,  teachers not only led discussions but also organized interactive activities for parents with their children, demonstrating practical ways to engage them in meaningful and development-focused exercises. A key highlight of the session was the emphasis on fostering reading habits in young children, with tips on selecting age-appropriate books and creating a bedtime reading routine. Parents left the session with valuable insights and strategies, appreciating the collaborative approach and the thoughtful efforts of the teachers to strengthen parent-child connection.

Parent Connect for our Senior Chingums, with a “Dramatic” Twist

The Parent Connect Session at Vedanta Academy was a novel initiative this year. For the Grade 9 and 10 sessions, the school collaborated with Crea-Shakthi (a theatre group dedicated to the cause of taking the craft to the next generation) to  showcase our students’ talents and learnings. This unique student-led theatre showcase at Vedanta Academy brought every student to the stage, where they took on various roles, including compering, delivering speeches, performing group dramas, and solo acts like monologues and stand-up comedy. The event also featured an interactive parent activity where students led theatre exercises, giving parents the opportunity to experience firsthand the benefits of Theatre in Education (TiE) and its positive impact on their children’s learning journey.

Throughout the session, students confidently took the stage, demonstrating their creativity and hard work they had developed during their weekly theatre classes. The event was not only an opportunity for students to shine but also for parents to get an immersive glimpse into what their children have been learning. Guided by their theatre facilitator, students performed group dramas and self-written solo performances, making the Parent Connect Session a memorable and enriching experience for all involved. Special thanks to Ms. Kaavya, our theatre facilitator from Crea-Shakthi for the amazing collaboration!
